In association with the free internet resource “4x4Calendar”, a new event for 2009 …
Jap ‘n’ Jeep Jam National Off-Road Jamboree
Sibbertoft 4x4 Off-Road Centre Welford Road, Husbands Bosworth nr. Market Harborough, Leics LE16 9UJ
4th - 5th July 2009Building on experience gained over the last 12 years organising 14 major off-road events, the time has finally arrived to launch a brand new event that has been waiting in the wings for far too long. Entitled Jap ‘n’ Jeep Jam (as apart from 4x4 traders/officials, there won’t be a Land Rover in sight) the event will feature all manner of off-road vehicles including 4x4’s and ATV’s – together with accessories and associated equipment – hailing solely from the USA, Japan, Korea and Asia ... a true first in the UK ! Also, unlike an expensive show or exhibition, the concept behind Jap ‘n’ Jeep Jam is to provide a fun, value-for-money family weekend – a big ‘get together’ if you like – the way 4x4 events used to be! Features include:- Trade and autojumble area(don’t however expect masses of Trade Stands - the fact is there will be a lot less traders attending events in 2009). Optional public off-road course.‘Gymkhana’ type vehicular entertainment where drivers can actually participate in rather than just watch!Free Club Display stands(applications invited). Beer tent with entertainment Friday & Saturday nights.Children’s amusements.Sensible day admission and camping fees.Day admission per day (Sat or Sun): £5 adult, child under 16 yrs free.
Camping per night (Fri, Sat or Sun): £8 per caravan, motorhome or any size tent.NOTE: All “European 4x4’s” of Japanese origin are also welcome i.e. Vauxhall Frontera, Ford Maverick, etc. ‘Club discounts’ are available (POA) should your club decide to utilise the event to hold its National Rally.Although the event website is still under construction, I thought it best to inform you of the event dates now. Website with downloadable Camping Form and Trade Stand Booking Form coming very soon. 01202 421284 ~ 07968 216266 ~ 4x4trading@talk21.com ~ www.4x4calendar.co.uk

At last, the event website is now online at www.japnjeepjam.com It’s basic but that’s okay as it has the all-important downloadable booking forms for Club Display Stands, Camping and Trade. Over to you …

I think a club stand at this event sounds like a damn good idea...... the fact that there will not be a green oval in attendance might mean that we stand more chance of looking around the autojumble and trade stands with a chance of finding something of use for a change. If anyone is going or there is a chance of a club stand i'd be very interested.
Cheers Dan

Don't want to mislead anyone about the trade area, and at the risk of pointing out the obvious, there will only be some decent autojumble there if owners themselves turn out their garages and bring along their unwanted gear. With the Land Rover scene it's entirely different as loads of traders turn up with autojumble/new stuff, but with Jap 'n' Jeep Jam, it's solely down to individual owners. You can lead a horse to water ... Good response from clubs so far, but still have room for a FOG presence if you're up for it. Again, I've provided the time and place (as cheaply as possible), so if there is nothing there for Fronty owners then it ain't my fault!!!

Having just checked my diary, it looks like I will be elsewhere marshalling on round 4 of the BCCC that weekend.
However, the FOG shelter should be repaired/replaced by then, so if anyone wants to take it to the show they'd be welcome.
Pity really, as the venue is not that far away from me.

Shame that, but as you say, somebody else could always represent the club. On the other hand, not everyone has got as much 'get up and go' as you. We'll see.
