Hope you don’t mind me posting the following events, they are newsworthy after all, but obviously remove immediately if regarded as spam … thanks!
4x4 MARKET
Land Rover ~ Jap ~ Jeep new/used parts, spares, accessories
Building on knowledge gained over 10 years organising major national 4x4 events, the time has come to launch a completely new event that has been waiting in the wings for some time - 4x4 Market.
Comprising a series of nine Sunday markets held each month from March to November, 4x4 Market features a large 4x4 autojumble area (approx. 80% Land Rover, 20% Jap 'n' Jeep), 4x4 and off-road trade stands, a 'Vehicles For Sale' Area and an optional reduced fee off-road course at every venue.
As all the family are welcome, additional non-4x4 related trade stands will be present together with displays and attractions, kids amusements, refreshments and free parking. Admission £5 adults, children (under 16 yrs) free. 8.30am – 4.00pm

CLUB STANDS:
Free Club Display Stands are available upon application (with as many display vehicles as you wish), but being a Sunday event as opposed to a full-blown 3-day 4x4 show, all persons staffing the pitch have to pay their £5 admission fee in the normal manner. Basically this entry fee pays for the venue! Children under 16 years old are still free of course.
The only other thing I ask is that clubs/groups ‘make an effort’ by displaying an information board, distribute flyers about the club or an event they are running or associated with (flyers distributed from within the confines of the pitch please – NOT the car park – been there, done it!) tell the world about their charitable works or assistance to the rescue services in times of disaster (flood, etc. – most apt at the moment) or whatever your club/group is all about. Displays incorporating hi-lift jacks/logs/axle-stands/etc. also encouraged; as long as they are safe, then no problem. The selling of club merchandise is also okay, but no new or used parts/accessories please - clubs/groups ‘tacking the Mick’ by ignoring this basic rule will simply be charged for an autojumble or trade pitch! Last but not least, the selling of food or drink from a Club Display Stand is not permitted.
Basically, a club/group may promote itself or its events as much as they like, that’s how we all get along in the wonderful world of off-roading! LAND ROVER, JAP OR JEEP, WE’RE ALL IN IT TOGETHER - LET’S BEAT THE MOANING ‘ANTIS’!!!
To book a Club Display Stand, simply contact myself Tom McGuigan via email or telephone.
Thank you.

I realise this is a Frontera forum and the following appears in a Land Rover magazine, but to save confusion and a possible wasted journey … Please be aware the 4x4 MARKET at Matchams Stadium & Leisure Park, Hurn Road, Bournemouth, Dorset BH24 2BT is Sunday 16th March 2008, NOT this coming Sunday 9th March as incorrectly listed by LRO (Land Rover Owner) magazine April issue. Sorry, their mistake not mine! http://www.4x4-market.co.uk

I was hoping to get a long to the old sodbury, but I understand that it has been cancelled.
Looks like I'll have to wait until September 7th.

Talking of Sodbury Trugga, it's now even further away from you as it has moved in alongside the Beaulieu Classic Car Autojumble, and now it directly affects me!!! Read on ...
It is with regret the 4x4 MARKET event scheduled for 18th May at Tulley’s Farm nr. Crawley, West Sussex HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
Unfortunately this is due to a clash of dates with Sodbury Land Rover Sortout who recently have announced plans not only to move their date to 18th May 2008, but also their venue from Berkshire to Hampshire!
To quote the organisers: “A fledgling series of events such as 4x4 MARKET cannot hope to compete with the likes of Sodbury Land Rover Sortout, an event which has been going for well over a decade … especially as it’s now being held within the same region! We are sorry to disappoint everyone but it wouldn’t be fair on either the sellers or buyers to run an event compromised in such a manner, therefore the decision was made to cancel what otherwise would have been an great new event for the region”.
This decision does not affect other 4x4 MARKET events which will still take place as advertised at various venues across the country.

Just a quick notification that the latest 4x4 Market scheduled for this coming Sunday 31st August at Cowm Quarry, Whitworth near Rochdale is all on track and going ahead as planned ... with the off-road course still reduced at only £15 play-all-day as advertised. An ex-stone quarry, it's a cracking site for off-roading! Information about this or any other event can be found via the event listings at www.4x4calendar.co.uk Simply look up the date for details. That’s it ... ta!
