Re: Green Laning September N WalesJust spent a fantastic weekend at ty isaf campsite in Wales with andy drift and bobby. We set off at about 6.50 am weren't eager much lol, after a 6 hour trip towing the pod with plenty of stop offs along the way and a toe curling stretch of road (in wales bloody sat nav) we arrived, its a lovely site with plenty of amenities and a kids play area nice and quiet with amazing views, setting up the pod for the first time was a breeze much easier than a tent, we were sat having coffee when drift arrived about an hour after us after a catch up bobby arrived so we helped them set up camp.
We took a trip into Bala for some supplies then spent a nice evening in the gazebo with a few bevvys, and our first night in the pod which I have to say is very comfortable warm and dry, it works very well and just needs a few extras to make it home from home. Saturday morning after a bit of brekky ghosthunter And his lovely wife Turned up, after a quick catchup we set off for corwen car wash and the wayfarer andy really made the most of the carwash as he took me over to take pics then went back across, after drift and ghosthunter went through andy took his third go only to be told he had left the gate open so back he went I think it was just an excuse to keep going through it, big kid, luckily it was quite low as unusually for Wales there hasn't been a lot of rain. We then proceeded to do the whole of the wayfarer leaving our names in one of the many books at the top, We took splashy lane which although quite dry andy still managed to cover the truck in sheep wee it stinks and drift felt very guilty as a sheep was in one of the dips and although he went through slowly the resulting tsunami after the truck soaked it so bobby got out to shoo it away and check it was ok. We then went onto white stones which was good it was dry but I can imagine in the wet or snow would be very challenging the back end slipped out a few times going down them, ghosthunter left us at the end of the laning and the rest of us went into betws y coed for a bit of food and a search for a dragon for me, when we had finished there we took a trip out to the penwy pass and a look at snowdon, the roads are amazing with great views we saw the electric mountain and as drift is very knowledgable on Wales he had some great anecdotes and information for andy and I. It's just stunning in Wales the laning is fantastic, Saturday night was the usual affair drinking and good laughs. Sunday was quiet with bobby and drift packing up and going home, as we were staying till Monday andy and I took a trip to Barmouth on drifts advice it's a nice little fishing village with a long flat beach and interesting little shops we had a nice pub lunch and a wander about. When we stopped in Bala village on the way back for some bits andy met a fellow fogger a newby to fog called Scott not sure on his user name and they were having a good chat while I got supplies. It has been an amazing weekend with good company and great laning would highly recommend it and hope to do it again in the future
