Could anyone give me any pointers to some good lanes as per title? Will be going that way at the end of the month hopefully.

Jim (wilberforce) is the area rep down there and knew a few good lanes when we went down to one of his recent laning days...

Granted that was a few years back, so you might wanna check the routes with the local council (always worthwhile) as they might be motorways or housing estates now!

Its a nice part of the world though... 8) 8) 8)
Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!

Looks like I'm in trouble with the Mrs's again...
She asked me what I'd most like to do to her body...
Apparently "Identify it" is not the correct answer!

The best source of info for the area is the relevant OS map, and HCC's online rights of way map, here: http://localviewmaps.hants.gov.uk/LocalViewmaps/Sites/ROWOnline/#. You're looking for the brown lines to denote BOATs (Byeways Open to All Traffic)
Wiltshire's effort is here: http://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/communityandliving/rightsofway/publicrightsofwaymapping.htm. Again, you're looking for the brown lines to frive.

Unfortunately HCC is somewhat anti-4x4 and the coast is quite built up, so you have to get out a few miles from Eastleigh to find anything.
There is a belt of lanes which isn't too far away, running from Winchester across to the Stockbridge area, and some are quite good if a little scratchy in places. The last run I did in the area started just north of Romsey, moving across towards Winchester and the A34, then up towards Basingstoke. There are mroe to be had the other side of the M3 round the Alton / Farnham area too, although I've not done those in a while.
Depends what sort of a day you want I supppose - I'll happily dig out my notes for my last run, just shout if I can be of help.

Thanks very much for your help and links Jim, they will come in handy. I don't mind really some green lanes and some 'exciting' area's i.e some hill climbing (not to steep) water are's (again not to deep) a little boggy? Now I know the water or boggy area's will be easy due to the weather we have had recently (lol) but anything really.
