Re: kington to knigton east of LeominsterHow was it Stuart, gutted i wasnt with you guys.....
Re: kington to knigton east of LeominsterWe had a fabulous time, right from the first lane which started with a river crossing, we didn't drive a sigle lane where the terrain was considered mundane. Every lane had a twist in the tail so to speak, that could be massive undulations, side slopes in a gully that makes Discos lean over so far that their upper extremes (gutters, window frames, glass) need to rub/scrub along the mud backs, tight chicanes through trees, wet muddy ruts, water splashes through large puddles on hard bottom tracks, rock steps, steep ascents and descents, all this together with absolutely fantastic panoramic scenery.
I suppose the icing on the cake or green eyed god of envy, on one particular lane having dealt with muddy ruts, a very steep sharp ascent that needed 2nd low box, then traversing a narrow track with a near vertical drop off on the nearside, we come across a stone cottage with a sizeable workshop/garage that was all tucked nicely into the hillside with awsome views down a spctacular valley, chickens in the yard scratching about in the sunshine, you get the picture. Anyway, a fella appears munching on a sandwich, very short hair, thick gold earing etc. He asks where we are from and if I'm a memeber of any of the Fronty forum, yes I replied why, to which he announced that he was also on here but not of late. This was a man who's posts I'd read and conversed with on occassion but never met, this was "Post finder". We nattered awhile then with the shaking of hands a smile and cheery wave we were on our way. Just remains to say that Post Finder is living the dream, fantastic countryside, nice home, has to use a green lane to get to and from his house, in the heart of laning country, snowed in for weeks in the winter. Wishing him good health and happiness, we expect to go back and see him in the spring. Regards Stuart Remember, keep the greasy side down!
Re: kington to knigton east of LeominsterStuart,
Did Post Finders place have a lot of dogs running around too, if so i remember that lane very well.
Re: kington to knigton east of LeominsterPost Finders is further up the hill past the kennels type place. the kennels were on your right, post finders was next on the left. Cracking lane, to live on it makes life even better.

Re: kington to knigton east of LeominsterHe was supposed to be moving to Anglesey, but someone said he'd gone out that way instead. Lucky sod !
Re: kington to knigton east of LeominsterHe certainly seems to have life sorted for sure.

Re: kington to knigton east of LeominsterGeeks, the event wasn't a FOG outing, it was a SNOBs outing, it wasn't local as it took us two and a half hours drive to "get in country" and from reading the write up on you truck I think we would have spent a lot of time towing you in and out of places due to lack of ground clearance and suitable tyres (which isn't the object of laning) but you would have been welcome to ride "shotgun".
PM me your details and we can meet up some time for a natter. Regards Stuart Remember, keep the greasy side down!
Re: kington to knigton east of LeominsterAh i see, sorry. I thought it was local as you said "Northants" my bad. Would be cool to ride shotgun or evening attend if its suitable I will drop you my details thanks for the offer

Re: kington to knigton east of Leominster
15 degree side slopes then!! There are times when the un-flexiness of a fronty pay dividends in stability.... Sounds like you had a great time and found some great lanes to explore...did you get any pictures, would be cool to have a gander if you have. Has postfinder still got his V6 Lwb? Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!
click here for the SE Events Index/links Thread...see all the reviews and whats coming up soon! Looks like I'm in trouble with the Mrs's again... She asked me what I'd most like to do to her body... Apparently "Identify it" is not the correct answer! MAKE IT or BREAK IT! TEAMXTREME4X4
Re: kington to knigton east of Leominster
Good to meet you Stuart, give me the heads up the next time your planning to come up this way and I'll put the tea n egg sarnies on
The deal on the Anglesey farmhouse fell through Si, so found this place instead. Pop over for a coffee n egg sandwich
The V6 went a long time ago Greg, at 11 miles to the gallon I wouldn't be able to afford to run it especially with the way fuel has gone up and the price of fuel round here. The Olympus is used everyday for green laning, so wouldnt need the v6 now anyway. G.
