North Suffolk

Just got back after a weekend away near Bury St. Edmonds - Walsham-le-Willows/Stanton area to be precise.
Noticed the magical 'byway' signs seemed to appear quite frequently so putting the question to the guys that live in that area - if these lanes are known and if they any good?
I was in the Focus so wasn't able to have look for myself, but next time we go up there I reckon taking the Fronty might be a worthwhile option.
Came home via Saffron Waldron/M11 and saw some familier sights from when we did the North Essex laning day a while back.

Hey Pedro thats not far from my neck of the woods. I know there is a local 4x4 club up that way but was not aware there were a lot of lanes round that area. Will buy a map and have a gander.

Hi Mick - Following the sat nav, we came off the main drag at Elmswell and went up to A1088. Got turned off and went to Stowlangtoft where we turned left up a long straight narrow lane (past Stowlangtoft Hall Park). It was at the top of this lane where I saw the first byway sign on the left. From there we turned right then left again to the area where our friends live.
I'm looking at the OS1:50,000 map and looking at 'Potash Farm' there is a segmented black dash with a black dot which I reckon are the byways I saw.
We went for a walk around the Potash Farm area and there was definantly a lane marked up with the magical red dot with the opposite direction marked as a 'restricted byway'.
If you end up having a ride up round that area, it'll be interesting to know what you find.

To busy trying to find Morrisons in Witham Ian - had some 12p off a litre vouchers that needed cashing in before Sunday
Good old sat nav had post code only for guidance which in turn pulled us off the A12 straight onto an industrial estate with not a single shopping trolley in sight. Re entered the road name on the sat nav, came back out, turned right, went into Witham, done the circuit a couple of times before finding the right road, went down past the station and found our destination. Turns out we were within spitting distance on the first attempt - excluding the industrial estate. Probably done half of the £4 saving riding round Witham, but hey oh, sun shines tomorrow and all that.
Another time though Ian, will pop in and find you. Who knows, if there are some good lanes up that way, might be able to drop the enemy off at our friends and have a days laning in your manor.

I have a route planned for later this year.
Just waiting on fudge to supply the one he uses around Thetford to include into it.
Traffic lights in London are just rough guidelines
