green laning kit ?

Hi all

i have started to get some kit for the green laning and off road days but was just wondering if there are any 4x4 shops online
which sell good quality kit ? i have a high lift jack and toe rope plus a selection of tools all ready but still need some more bits

Try Winch Solutions near Haydock ( J23, M6 http://www.winchsolutions.co.uk) I've bought plenty from them, all good stuff, and usually cheaper than most you find.

Make sure that you've got good recovery points both on the front & rear of the truck.
As a minimum I'd go for a 4 mtr long strap, and a 2 mtr long strap. at least 3 good quality D shackles, (If you have a towbar, get one or two that will just slip over the ball.)
A spade, something to put the jack on to stop it sinking when the ground isn't hard.

Tools, jack, spare bulbs, oil etc should be the norm anyway.

After that, you can build up as you find that something would have come in handy. Some people swear by waffle boards, I have a pair but have never needed to use them yet, on the other hand I also carry a chainsaw, and tend to need it a few times a year.
Personally I don't like the high-lift jacks, they can be very dangerous, I have a good wide based trolley jack that gets used for wheel changing.

Im not sure about that as it looks not to hard wearing but i could be wrong i like the old army shovels thats what i normally have in the back of mine

Have to agree with Horses, that kit looks a bit woos! Digging out with a short handle will do your back. The military spades are good as long as you get one with a sound handle or convert it to a steel tube as I have on mine (cold to the touch but won't snap).

The key to driving off road isvehicle prep and mods together with drivivg skills, been many a place in 2wd where a full on 4x4 has failed.
