Gap Road

Hi All,

I remember reading, probably about 12 months ago, that the Gap Road in South Wales is no longer open to motor vehicles. I know it used to have a seasonal TRO on it, but is this still the case? or has that been done away with now and its perminantely shut off?

If this is the case, do people still drive it? It is a lane I have never done but looking on youtube it is definately one I'd love to do!!

If any one has any info I would be grateful

cheers

Hi guys i spoke to the Rights of way officer just before Christmas, he was explaining that the Gap road is officially closed but the council are refusing to take the seasonal open dates sign down!!!
He said to me that if the signs are still up then the Brecon beacons national parks are powerless to prosicute anyone on the track aslong as they are between the dates! !!!!
I LIKE BEING FAT! I'M HARD TO KIDNAP!!

Thanks both for that. I am guessing then it is open to those who wish to risk it. Given that lanes are dwindling for 4x4's I think I may just give it a go in March :) It would be a shame to miss out on it :)

Do either of you have the grid refs for the lane, I cant seem to find it on my map :(

Cheers
