Christmas laning?

Postby the.craig on Wed Dec 08, 2010 12:41 pm

Hi all, OK I'm trying to work out the confusing world of planning a green lane trip because I'd like to do a run in a few weeks around christmas time in my new truck :D
I'm thinking of either the Lakes, Peaks or North Wales but was hoping there may be someone experianced at planning routes who help(show me for future trips) sort a route out.
I have done a few green lanes before just never planned a route and all the way finder stuff is getting really confusing!!
Have a couple of friends up for joining to, another frontera and a G wagon.
I'm based in Southport so if there anybody local(ish) would happily meet up to plan a route etc.
Cheers
Craig

I was thinking of doing something on Sunday the 2nd of Jan. For the simple reason that people are in bed all day on the 1st mullered , plus the following day is a bank holiday which gives you chance to fix / clean your motors before you return to work.

Certainly would, Unc!

2nd of Jan could be a good day :D I am going to get it installed later hopefully but have no idea how to use it etc.

Just for reference I have access to a resource called Digimap run by Edina (Edinburgh University Geography Dept.) which as full OS map coverage and is printable and downloadable in any area, scale etc. Has got to be some use for planning and laning??

What file types does MM support for maps? And what scales does it work in?

Shall we start with names of interested partys and dates available then go from there. 2nd of Jan is a good date for me but can do most others to. Lakes looks favourite for location then if landi is good for showing some of the open lanes to because tbh I ain't got a clue lol.
Lookin forward to getting out again :Dr
