going up to the lakes in a couple of weeks was wondering if there are any lanes round stavely or windermere way??

I use a web site called wheres the path ,it uses os maps and google earth together.

I've just got back and did a lot of looking before we went.
Any worth doing are all now TRO'd or permit only as far as I could make out.

Having said that, there are plenty of interesting tarmac'd roads.

Try going along Honister pass (and make sure you stop at the mine at the top), and this road is also a very interesting drive :shock: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=54.5472 ... 41585&z=15

One other really good drive was Hardknott Pass http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&saf ... 68,,0,4.16

Even more fun if you go East to West doing the uphill section in ... :shock: reverse :shock: (mechanical fuel pump failure Mk1 Escort GT worked OK on gravity :wink: )

yes there are hundreds of by ways and public rights of way in that area highly recomend garbon pass which is above kentmere nr stavely if you are up tht way in the commin few weeks give me a pm and ill show you about

see my thread to, want to do a christmas/new year lane run and lakes be a good location for me to! Just need to drift to help with the planning etc :lol: :lol:
