possible lanes day Norfolk

Postby alex on Wed May 20, 2009 9:16 pm

I dont know why, but my LWb comes off the drive and heads for the A5 and Wales. To broaden her horizons and spread the fun around members further a field I am contemplating running the TOR route for Northern Norfolk.

I would put it in the relevant section, but as we dont have a middle East section, am not sure to put it in SE or NE or Midlands :|

Anyhow, may want to run a recon first say mid/end June before deciding what state of vehicle and driver to open the day to. I would like to see if theres enough interest in the day and look for a volunteer with some experience and perhaps some good tyres to come on the recon with me and my navigator.

Perhaps when everyones had chance to notice this one of the guards/mods can move to relevant section.

Shouldnt be anything extreme, a standard car with someone experienced as yourself will be fine.

I'd be more than happy to meet you for either a recon or the full run.
Have good tyres, 6T tow rope, wellies and a good sense of direction and the CB should be fitted by 1st weekend in June. Any weekend after this one coming is fine. Just need notice a day or so beforehand.
Having said that, what's the TOR route before I totally commit myself?

ok looks like we have a few names, dont want more than 4.

1. Me
2. Badboy
3. Doris maybe
4. Collie maybe

Andy, if we do a run we can make sure there's room in a group.

TOR (total off road magazine) do tulip maps for a location each month. They sort the dreary from the nice and run a slightly modded Nissan around the route. It should be fine for novices and unlifted cars in the dry, may need an occasional tug with a rope if muddy, the only reason I like to recon first is to see if it has deteriorated since the masses have used them. Did something similar last year, 3 groups on the Longmynd and it was a very good day.

Well it looks like a second run sometime could be filled if it looks nice enough. May have some around Nottingham in the not too distant future too.
