Northwest evening run(15th June 2006)

Hi Fellow F.A.R.T.S.................
Just a brief note about the !st Northwest evening run, which was
attended by 3 FOG members and an honorary member in an...er.
.... well how do I put it.....not a frontera. Nice pajero.
we went on a ford/river crossing partway round,
this being the approch....

Image

All was going well......

Image

until captain ken (kenwales2002) wanted to play at submarines..........

Image

once we had convinced his elder daughter that the car would
be ok for the school run....if just a bit damp around the floor area!
we set about recovering the now waterloged frontrea..
Once on dry land the doors opened and the water flooded out!
like a scene out of a comedy film.
we all helpped dry the engine out, and captain ken decided
that it was time to retire to a local pub ..........
and that was the end of a very enjoyable evening out.
The run we had planned will be done again, as soon as
Ken's frontera is dried out and running well.
Andrea(captain kens wife/navigator)has suggested we
take a flask and sandwiches in case it happens again......
.....so we can all have a picnic and enjoy the view!

I suggested water wings and a dingy...........

to be honest a bit ago I would have been glad to tackle the
ford on a trail bike.(used to be a member of the TRF),
but when Kens bonnet wet under the water just before I took
the picture (all be it on his camera !) I turned round and looked
for a way out in reverse. Eh!!! I'm from near wigan...
if you get into trouble its always nice to have a way out!!!!!!!

At the moment I am working on a plimsol line for froteras....
we need some sort orf spell check ...
.just got a paper cut from my dictunary...dicktunary.....little word book.

What's a Spell Check?

Half the Under-20s these days are illiterate so it's nice to see the "Older Generation" being able to talk the talk!

How deep was that at the deepest point and did he stay "in the Lane" or was he like me and go all over the place?

as I've said before Carl, when I get some decent time and Cash, I'll be down to your side of the Country and we'll go through most of the Wetroads list!
