army training

just a quick question but i'll ask while i'm new. has anyone thought or tried to use armed forces military sites to go off roading on such sites as catterick, warcop or salisbury plain for example , when i was still in, not long ago we used to spend time off roading on motorbikes on these sites . i'm sure i can't see why not we couldn't be able to use them now if we went through the proper channels, if this hasn't already been tried let me know and i'll ask around as i still know quite a few people who could help us with this . there are loads of sites around britain which need to be used by us :axe:

Salisbury Plain has 100+ miles of Byways going thru it, but there is a lot of areas still out of bounds that are for Army use only, and a lot of Land Wardens patroling the area to keep you on the proper bits.

thought salisbury plain might be hard one to get onto because its used all year round and weekends, as anyone tried any other sites? other large areas are catterick, bovvington(where the army tests its tanks),warcop, theres a place up near northumberland which is a good area but can't remember the name right now. has anyone from wales tried brecon?

This was all out on Salisbury Yesterday.

Ok here are the ones I took,

First lot are from the onboard cam (not too clear cos of the mud)

Had a great day out on the plains, but it did seem as if there was a bit of carnage out there.

The plains are only accessible as it has ancient rights of way through it.

I cant see too many military sites allowing folk on to play due to public liability issues, they certainly didnt a lot of years ago when we used to play on Her Majesties Payroll

wouldn't hurt to ask , only places you would have to avoid is live fire ranges, but the rest should be ok . those pics of salisbury plain brought back a few memories . i know that place like the back of my hand, was good fun blasting round there in warriors, schimitars
