Hiya mate...
Not a huge site by the pics....which kinda means that you will probably end up trying stuff that you thought better of to begin with...
Looks like a good place to take a beater...and kill it...
Just been watching the vids, and there seems to be a lot of stuff that is potentially very damaging mate....not that this is always a bad thing, so long as there is other stuff that is more managable as well, doing more extreme stuff all day long will hurt any 4x4....
They have done a good job with the machines...it is difficult to make challenging yet driveable obsticles with a digger, takes a lot of thought...

Seems to be a lot of beater trucks "going for it" in the vids mate...I am just wondering how much there is going to be to do if you plan to be a bit careful and want to take your truck home in one piece...

Don't mean to put a downer on this...just warning you from what I see in the pickies and vids, having being involved in building a couple of offroad sites myself

If you do go, take some pickies matey, will be good to see...

And...do you want me to stick a wanted advert on FOG for you, for a front diff now, or are you going to wait till you get back
Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!

Looks like I'm in trouble with the Mrs's again...
She asked me what I'd most like to do to her body...
Apparently "Identify it" is not the correct answer!

Jason....Dont get me wrong mate, I am not saying dont go....just be a bit careful...

If it is near to you, why not pop down and have a look for an hour or so and see how much carnage is going down, and how much you would be willing to have a go at...then if you think its worth a day outing then book ya fronty in...

The thing is I know (from hard experience  ) if there isnt a massive amount of tracks and if you are like me, you will end up trying to do stuff that you really know your car stands no chance of doing, and thought better of all day, and you will end up breaking stuff or worse...

Just a thought mate anyway...

Hi all

Had an email to day from Muddy Mates

Hi Jason,
This is just Darrell from the muddymates wedsite, I've seen your question about the site and just though I'd be honest about the site. Yes it's smaller than many Pay & Play sites, It has lots of short steep climes so if wet has potential for rollovers (this has always been the trailered in motors pushing there luck). Most of the vids are people going a bit extreme just because they are more interesting. The truth is we never know how busy it will be or how many just offroaders will turn up, we have plenty of very tidy motors go around with out any damage but only you know your own ability/4x4. If you decide to come along your more than welcome and if you would like a walk around first before you pay anything just let me know and I will lend you a high vis and show you around. We are lucky to have a few pay & play sites around here but some just consist of deep mud and water. Aldermarston is a large good site for all types of 4x4 but is even further away than us. Have fun - Darrell.

I think it was very nice of him to email me
I going to go down there when i get the truck back together :(

Well I went round today and it was not that bad,it is very clayey and slippy - hey it is a quarry though!! :),
However only got stuck the one time - when my truck bellied out!! The only damage caused was bent tow bar electrics, bent side step and a bush had gone on the front shock which i changed on site as i had a spare with me,and I also have a few scratches where i went into the hedge
But i really enjoyed myself!!! There was another frontey there from the muddy frontera club and he blew his auto hubs trying to go up the big bank

Would suggest it to anyone - !!! It was pretty good fun :D :D

Just looked at the map and was amazed at how few were shown north of the border & in fact in the north in general.
I know for a fact that there was one near Auchtermuchty until quite recently. If anyone knows of any northern P&P sites then contact the web site and get them on. I find it hard to believe that there isn't one at Knockhill where some of the best touring car races are held as it has lots of up and downs.
Mentioned the earnings potential to the Shepherdess and she pointed out that the only up and down crazy bits on our farm are right next to our "Natura 2000" river......... BUMS
Over here in that far off galaxy called France (RIBBIT) each commune has an open to anything road legal rally and we go all round the green lanes and then to a willing farmer's field that has been sculpted by the local BIG DIGGER man and do all the damage we avoided doing during the day.
It is sponsored by the local govt. as a way of preventing large Farmers from Digging/ploughing up lanes that belong to us the residents no matter where we come from. It's part of the taxes. But then, if you are paying more than a couple of hundred euros a year, you are living in a very big house.
What was the question?
