Just booked Cannock ChaseHi, Just got belly plates on so I hit the Bofa site to get the next empty spot on the Cannock chase. Got to wait till 22nd Sept, but it will be worth a wait. Anyone who missed the club outing or wants some more I would be happy to follow/lead them around in the new beast.

ok, the day began with breakfast in the cafe , then a bit of a talk we were informed that we would go out in groups of two with a marshall following and following a bluebell map with tripometer readings , i had never read these maps before but found them quite easy in the end although i did take a wrong turn , also when following the map you have to look out for markers and write them down and if you do make a wrong turn they dont tell you and that puts out your tripometer , they also set a few tasks nothing hard, one of the was driving blindfolded onto an axle twister . on the route if i remember correctly there is an easy way or a hard way on certain sections
all in all its a great family day out with no pressure http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n120 ... C_0150.jpg http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n120 ... They found a bit of the cannock chase thats so hilly and crowded with trees that nobody walked it and made it the special events area for 4x4's used on saturdays. One week the forestry commision use it next week its Bofas turn.
They have been allowed to cut trees, make new tracks, sometimes take cars where there arent tracks and even make big holes in existing tracks. Result is the steepest hills with the occasional crater thrown in to scare you. They have so many miles of track they could make a hundred routes without duplication, but do string certain ones together that have the best hill/track combinations together. I ran it in my B v6 and was fine till clipping a tree stump near the end having got alittle complacent. Driven carefully you will be fine, there are always routes around all difficult bits, they are extremely well prepared with a number of recovery vehicles (I think our 12 car party had 6 Bofa cars around) all winched with waffle board, all no the area. If you look down in this section there is Cannock chase meet 30th june post and the follow up with piccies. Any questions let me know, luckily I live about 5 mile away Fronty no.4, pimp mobile Treg 3.2 LWB lifted 2.5"

Its a really good day out i'm sure you will enjoy it, Alex did not get stuck much he just watched me get stuck as i was leading
I'm sure the NAVEX we did back on the Chase last month was done specifically for us, as on the previous trip I attended (as a passenger), it was more of a follow-the-leader type event.
Either way, it is a great place and you will learn a lot about your and your Fronteras ability. Lawrence
Just got back, cracking day. The SWB was great fun, we did everything in our way and tried assaults up Suzuki (now really washed out) and ski jump. Failed both but gave the kids a reall bouce in the atempt and had to come backwards all the way down Ski jump as we failed at the big 2 potholes at the top.
Didnt take photo's was having far to much fun. Booking again soon for late November or early December, anyone wanting to come along let me know dates, I think I'm free all November. Fronty no.4, pimp mobile Treg 3.2 LWB lifted 2.5"
