Just to to give some of the members who are attending tommorow a warning .........

As most of you know, i'm imfamous when it comes to organising Midlands Meets and the weather that usually comes along of the day of the meet !! (just blessed with the powers to "P" the gods off !!)

Anyway, tommorows meet is not any different !!!

Please be aware that the Met Office has issused a SEVERE WEATHER WARNING for the following areas .....

Shropshire
Staffordshire
Stoke-on-Trent
Telford + Wrekin
W Midlands
Hereford
Warickshire
Worcestershire

For more infomation chicky here :

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/ ... nings.html

I'm aware there is a few people who will be travelling quite a few miles to the event, so Should the worst happen, then please dont try to attend the meet, and risk your own and others safety.

Yes, before anyone says "BUT I'VE GOT A 4x4 !!", some people will be in conventional cars.

And should the weather be so bad, that most people can't or are unable to attend then I will organise
"THE MIDLANDS "LATE" ANNUAL CHRISTMAS MEET 2009/10" for sometime within the first two weeks of January at the same venue.

I will keep you all updated during the day tomorrow as the what is going on.

Also, if anyone who is travelling to the event can also give us an update on the conditions around there area during the day then that may well help other people.

Many thanks again folks, and hopefully we will see you all tomorrow.

Cheers "FUDDY"

Cheers Bernie.

I think we should make a collective decission between us all weather or not to call it off.

Lets say if everyone who plans to attend checks out this thread at around 3.30 to 4pm we should know by then if it's on or off.

I'll Phone the Stoke/Staffs Lads in the Afternoon if it's likely to be called off. Will also text every other member of FOG in my phone book as well. Weather they are attending or not.

SO FELLOW FOGGERS

PLEASE CHECK BACK HERE BETWEEN 3.30pm and 4pm SUNDAY

IF MORE UPTO DATE INFORMATION.

Thanks for the update Fuddy

We are coming from Banbury, North Oxfordshire, and so far we have missed the most of the snow. Just a few flurries every now and then. Will keep you updated as if it gets bad here, then 4x4 or not, we can't get off our estate (or rather we would struggle to get back on it again!).

We are going to be careful, and rely on all the reports from you guys further North, as we really don't want to get stuck on the M5 / M6. We've got a babysitter in for the kids, and whilst they would be willing to stay over, I don't want to put them in that posistion.

Will be watching this thread, to see what happens, but we are really looking forward to meeting some more Foggers, so we will (hopefully) see you there! :drink:  :drink:  :drink:

Have been and had a look at the weather on Metcheck and Weather.com, and most of the warnings expire at 0300hrs on Sunday (15 hours before we meet). Tomorrow day time in Stafford looks pretty clear, with just a 30% chance of rain/sleet/snow from 1800hrs onwards on Sunday.

So it dosen't look to bad in the area where the meet is for tomorrow night. I know we all have still got to get there, and home again, just hope and pray that the local councillers have had more than just their driveways gritted :D

The info I got can be seen here:

There were snow flurries earlier,at the moment probably the biggest danger would be from ice on untreated roads

But just think about it................ what if we all made it to the pub and then the snow started. Snowed in in a pub, that just doesn't bear thinking about

As much as i can't wait for the meet i can fully understand the stance that Jase et all are taking on this at the moment, hopefully the snow will abate until after the do 'cos i have been looking forward to it for so long now i would be gutted if it weren't to happen.

Cheers and fingers crossed.

Thanks for the update Bobster :D

Just took to wife to Tesco, and we got beautiful sunshine as well. But coming back to the house, we got stuck on black ice, and the car wouldn't go anyway but backwards! :D

Looking forward to seeing you all tonight :drink:
