Re: Meet the Treg
Welcome along Danny I was guilty of thinking to myself" what the hell is that bloke up to in that new Touareg"!! but as already said, hats off to you mate-you had a bash at places the landy whussies would'nt dare go If Im honest, I was impressed at how the VW handled the terrain Dont damage it though, get yourself and old fronty next time! Cheers Martin Martin
Just to let everyone know
The money that was raised on Sunday has now been passed on to Robs family. Just before i say what the money is going to be used for i have been asked to say
Ok i have started a New topic as to what Turbo's ( Rob ) family are doing with the money Please have a look / read at http://fronteraowners.co.uk/v-web/bulle ... 411#160411 I Like this Truck of mine, just like me it's well run in it's not old just older.

Hi Danny, must admit I tried very hard to get the shiney dirty when we played in the puddles but you avoided me quite skillfully, welcome to the site and the family as I believe we are one big family, we here to help, advise and take the p*** but it's all good fun
regards chrissy one life, live it.
So it was you 4x4 chrissy who tried to soak us! Just as well we managed to get the window up!!!!
I've got some questions - probably not for this topic but what the heck let's see how it goes. Farley was the second time I have been off road - ever, that's assuming (as someone mentioned already) that parking on the pavement does not contribute to offroading! So what makes a good off road car? I mean the Treg has hill start assist, hill decent control, low range, central diff, EDL and 500mm fording depth as standard. not to mention 45 degree incling and 35 degree yaw angles...surely if I raised it a few inches, added a snorkel and put some beefy tyres on than it would be classed as a real offroader? Aside from that thinking of getting a car that I can wreck - but not sure about fronties as I hear parts are hard to get hold of? Cheers all
personally ..if you want a "toy" to play in i'd go for a suki sj or an LR 90
was very impressed with the vw's perfomance in the water ... did you see that kia sorrento that was there as well
I wouldnt have anything other than a Fronty. It amazed me just what they can do on Sunday. Although SDTPC would've been handy (Steep Descent Twitchy Pukker Control)
SIZE DOES MATTER!! MEMBER 1728 1996 2.8 SWB called VIPER Members Ride section for VIPER Comments on VIPER here GET YOUR CARTOON CAR HERE
Control and decent, takes all the fun out of it.
Fronty no.4, pimp mobile Treg 3.2 LWB lifted 2.5"
Fronty no.5 2.8 swb hd coils +2" 31"machos.
Hi Danny it was me who posted about them only going up pavements they are very capeable off road i know i used to work on them but no one wants to use them for that they just want them for the school run but if you want a toy then a fronty is the way forward cause parts are cheap and easy to get hold of and they are fantastic fun. sorry if i affended you and welcome along
It might be slow but i can go anywhere!
Some great pics there, it looks like fun was had by all! Just wish I could have made it. Will deffo be at the next one wherever it may happen. Well done FOG!
