Fancy helping run the Scottish Rally? 26 June

Postby Jools on Thu May 13, 2010 8:31 am

Hi All

Again this year I am Stage Commander on the Twiglees stage of the Scottish Rally. This is a round of the Scottish Rally Championship, and will feature about 120 cars of all sorts - ranging from Nissan Micras up to full WRC machines.

Sir Trugga of this parish is Deputy for me again, and I wondered if any other FOG members fancied coming to help. No previous experience required, it mainly consists of parking up, possibly doing spectator control and watching the cars go by. If one goes missing, the radios crews will quickly determine roughly where it is and will ask you to walk in to find it. Again, full briefing will given. If you prefer there are a couple of time controls that need covered - you won't see any action, but you will see the cars close up and get to chat to the crews. You will also get a free run through about 9 miles of fantastic forest stage!

Twiglees is in Eskdalemuir just north of Lockerbie - if you look at a map it is about 2 miles north of Boreland, on the west side of the A road.

26th June, need to be on stage at 09:30, first car due 11:00, should be finished by 15:00 (assuming no delays).

Please let me know if you are up for it. Equally, there are other stages if you fancy different times. Rally details are Here

Cheers

Cool. As I said, no experience necessary. We'll sort you out with someone who knows the ropes.

Please let me know if you can make it.

Cheers
