Frontera Special/Limited Editions.

frontera where it came from how powerfull MPG etc

Frontera Special/Limited Editions.

Postby vauxmad_kev on Thu May 03, 2007 9:39 pm

Just wondering where I'd be able to find some info on special or limited editions of the Frontera, or even if there were any?

I'm presuming there were as I have seen an 'Apache' on the Auto Trader site. Quite liked it too I must say.

Also, were there different spec models?

Thanks. Kev..

I'll explain a bit more. What I'm trying to do is limit my search. I' trying to find the model of Fronty that suits me. Mine will be, dare I say it, more for road use and towing the odd car and stuff.

If I do decide to buy I'll be looking for something unusual. Nice colour, clean, with a few toys.. air con and electrics.

I had an Omega CDX and loved it, except for the fact it was an auto. It had to go! Thats the kind of thing I'd be putting it up against, if you know what I mean?

I don't think that there were trim levels in the way that say Ford had Popular, L, GL & Ghia.

There was the "Sport" (SWB) and "Estate" (LWB), that got progressively better as time elapsed, although there were options such as "Tow Pack", "Winter Pack", aircon and the such like.

There were also the special editions on various models; Olympus, Transglobe, etc. The newer models might have different variations though.

I see what you mean about having a "special" vehicle though.

Thanks for that. AT least you knw what I meant! I was wondering how I would explain it!

I suppose the best thing is just to keep looking everywhere and get a "feel" for the different examples available.

Thanks,

Kev..

My previous fontera was an A series the Diamond Limited edition 1996, don’t confuse with the diamond, the ltd diamond had the lot full electrics, sunroof air con full leather detachable tow ball the list goes on

My current fontera is the B seriseV6 3.2 Limited Full leather and air con but no sun roof
It has all the toys, and detatchable tow ball.

Dare I say the fronty A is better than the B , If I was to have the V6 in the A id be very, very happy!
But hay I still love my B fronty!

I don't know if I'd be able to stretch to something as new as a 03 or that. It will be for myself, my wife has the "good" car so....

That sounds exactly like what I'd be after.... I haven't seen any yet though. I'll keep my eyes peeled though. Thanks for that.

Kev can I suggest you try to find one of the last Frontera A's to be made (most likely on a P reg or later) VX had the frontera pretty much sorted by then and it will have the better dash plus most of the goodies you want including ABS. Not easy I know but worth a search or two on the net.

I recently bought a Fronty B 2.2_16v LIMITED version. Though it had a blown head gasket so I am currently fixing it, it has aircon etc but nothing out of the norm that I can tell, feature wise.. though I havent really sat in it much as yet as I have been under the bonnet mostly so far!

Don't know if this helps..
I've just picked up a '98 Sport with the 'Sport S' logo on the sides and 'Transglobe' on the regn doc(?)
Remote c/locking, a/con, half leather seats, star-shaped alloys, metallic paint.
no wheel arch extensions though (anyone got a set??).
It also has that diamond-shaped logo on the (hard) spare wheel cover.

Steve, you've got a TransGlobe, for which there is a brochure link on the forum - can't work out how to link it to this post though.
