Starting problems

Postby westo123 on Fri Apr 13, 2018 9:56 am

The old fronty doesn't get used too much these days but when I do it generally starts first time, it has a new battery.
It may even stop and start several times with no issues, then suddenly it turns over but won't start, makes a couple of grunting noises and doesn't turn over evenly. I have to leave it and come back some time later. Am I looking at the starter motor on it's way out, or something easier?

Must be the starter then as it's got a new battery.

Got a cheap starter off Ebay, fitted it today, seems to have cured the problem.
