Hub bearingDoes anybody know where I can get a front hub bearing from. This is the bearing that supports the drive shaft to the hub not the wheel bearings. Vauxhall can get one from Germany which will take 5 working days but I am impatient and want one now.
Re: Hub bearingDo you mean the needle bearing the CV joint runs on inside the steering knuckle stub?
If so Milners stock genuine Isuzu, or Isuzu can get them next day. My members ride For Banshee the Trooper : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=34626 My members ride for Leeloo the Lotus Edition viewtopic.php?f=46&t=60154 Deceased My members ride for Brenda the Bighorn : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=54771
Re: Hub bearingPart "3"
Part number 94407708 (Isuzu Part Number 8944077080) Worth getting the thrust washer as well. They are only a couple of quid. Worth noting Isuzu are only £1 more expensive .. and don't charge £5,000,000 delivery My members ride For Banshee the Trooper : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=34626 My members ride for Leeloo the Lotus Edition viewtopic.php?f=46&t=60154 Deceased My members ride for Brenda the Bighorn : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=54771

Re: Hub bearingSame job as me, using Milner's parts.
This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been
Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered ) Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... Re: Hub bearing
Phone Isuzu dealer with part numbers. Collect from dealer next day I do recommend the washer as well. It has a Teflon(?) coating that sits against the face of the CV joint. If the bearing has gone I can guarantee the washer has worn the surface off as well. Re: Hub bearingSo far so good. Ordered the parts from Milners thursday night and they duly turned up today via good old Yoda. They look the right parts so fingers crossed.
Re: Hub bearingGood luck getting the old ones out. The washer should be easy to pull out past the seal.
The needle bearing is different. I ended up making a drift tool to push it out from the other end (wheel side). When you look inside the stub you will see the bearing sits in a larger diameter step. I took a chisel and ground the end flat. I then ground the side to have an angled notch. I plan on doing mine tomorrow so will take photos. Re: Hub bearingThis is what I use to drift the bearing out. You drop it in front the front and put the notched bit up against the back of the needle bearing and tap, move around 90 degrees. tap, move round 90 degrees etc etc etc.
Just done one and it came out a treat.
