what do you reckon?

banter general discussions etc

what do you reckon?

Postby meooo on Sun Dec 16, 2007 5:32 pm

My attention has been drawn to an ad in the local paper;
Frontera RS Sport 2.2dti.....with diff locks?......43k miles @ £4995 ono
Wife rang him up, sounds desperate to sell, he's had for 14 months, got 3 cars and wants out......so probably £4000-£4500
Think this is ott?

On another note, same paper, 98 2.0 sport with 40k, lady owner (yeah ok!) £3250....but I think thats way too much!
What have I told you about Thinking Erroll??

Start at 3,300 and see what he says..

But try it all out on and off road first to check everything.

Sounds good though, well worth checking it out.

Its a 2001 reg apparantly....dont think itll go far down here @ the price, Wife likes the lookof it although its not as "rugged" looking as our 98 sport
Think Ill call him back and arrange a look-see
I take it these cant be used on-road in 4wd either?...the cars in Newquay and there aint much off-road there to test it fully
I've already been warned it WONT go off-roading.......we'll see about that!

3k was a good offer to open with, he should have haggled with you.
More than likely the guy may be looking for the full retail price because it still has finance ti settle on it.
So what ever you do, do an HPI check on it before buying.

We are looking to replace our second car with a diesel sport, so we have been looking around.......5K seems expensive to me unless I have missed something

We paid 4K for our LWB 2.2DTI with about 36K on the clock.

I agree, we have been looking for about 2 weeks now and the price differences are astonishing.

One question, and I don't mean to hijack the post......There are a lot of Fronty's for sale in Yorkshire area......any idea why?

Cheers,
Huw.

its due to the Lard mines closing down. The Frontera B was the vehicle of choice for the independent Lard Miner, due to its large carrying capacity, sleek body design (allows for easy slippage through the lard tunnels) and wipe clean interior.

With the mines now closing down due to a large fatty deposit being found in bulgaria, the clottage industries of the Yorkshire area are beginning to suffer, and so the vehicles are up for sale.
