Brachunky appeal dayJust wondering if there is any interest in doing some kind of laning or p+p day in aid of the above appeal. That event is abit far to go for us southerners so was just wondering if we could hold somthing to raise money and send on. The only site I know of is Baldhu which is about 2hrs drive from me but still close enough to make it worth while. I think John(meeooo) would be able to get some details as to cost of the site for a day etc. Perhaps a joint effort with the Hampshire possey. Any ideas, plans, suggestion add'em to the mixing pot
Re: Brachunky appeal dayMy trucks off the road ...... good plan though jim
Re: Brachunky appeal dayCan still take part even if it means being passengers. Doesn't have to be p+p, could just be a social get together, do those lanes near you, pick-nik on the moors everyone chips in a few ££, every little helps and a good day should be had.
Re: Brachunky appeal dayHow far to Salisbury plane ?????
too far perhaps? I wouldn't mind trying some of Carls lanes....not too far to travel in the current climate and the dogs could have a run on the moors too. What have I told you about Thinking Erroll??
Re: Brachunky appeal dayHi John, I thought there were a few more peeps in the south west Oh well. Salisbury plain would be but I don't know the area at all. Do you know if the smurfers are going again soon, maybe we could tag along and tap'em for a few ££
Re: Brachunky appeal daytheres a few owners down here ....but they don't seem to want to be part of our community ..(fools} ..and yes ..i have spoken to loads of people about the forum
Yes ...Salisbury plain would be good have never been on the plains before so a guide would be good ....once my truck is back on the road would be even better ...then we can come along too
Re: Brachunky appeal dayMaybe we could have a "get Carls truck back on the road appeal". People could donate odd nuts and bolts and nice shiny things and then we can go laning on the plains
Re: Brachunky appeal dayHar har har .....
..it's just the tax & ticket that i need .....but a total lack of funds is holding the progress up
Re: Brachunky appeal dayYeah I know that one, got those nice shiny wheels in the shed but no ££ for tyres and still trying to put a bit aside for the clutch.
Re: Brachunky appeal daySounds like a good idea. The Vauxhall Off Road Club used to use the Plains a fair bit in the mid 90's. Had a number of trips there.
Mark
Re: Brachunky appeal dayPossible plains trip sounds cool. Will wait for Carl to get up and running and go from there. Do you know the area at all Mark?
Re: Brachunky appeal daythere is a guy on the surf forum lives near/on the plain and arranges outings...threatened to get me out there once as punishment for extracting the michael about something............me
Anyway, I'm sure he would be willing to take a group out there.......if only to try humiliating Fronty owners Theres another in Plymouth area too, apparantly there are lanes from Plymouth to Torbay area without using the main roads, one of Vospers reps has a Landy and knows the routes down there too.....but HER Landy is off the road due to MOT etc.......just like Carl What have I told you about Thinking Erroll??
Re: Brachunky appeal dayyup ...
i've heard about the lane network between plymuf and torbay ...but never been on any of them theres a few down Totnes way too ...(so i've heard) am not looking at getting my truck back on the road till at least the mid november.. early december ...

Re: Brachunky appeal dayI have made an approach to one of the guys on Surf site who appears to be involved with most of their Plains runs, just to see if he would be interested in taking us out there.....awaiting his laughter and ridicule........
