First off road experienceI was looking at the Dalby forest 4x4 adventures and am thinking of taking a little mud bath with my 6 year old and our Fronty Rex.
Does a standard fronty with road tyres and no lift cope well here on all the courses (with obvious exception of the X-treme course) or should i go elsewhere for my first go. Can i also confirm that a fronty is an proper 4x4 not a soft roader, and how are they seen within the 4x4 world, capable or very capable. Yes i have seen your videos but i have also seen enhanced fronties so do i need to fiddle with Rex or is it ok to leave him standard. Sorry for so many questions Nick 1995, (N) SWB 20i Sport S (Named Rex)
hi. there is a quarry just at the north side of the humber bridge just outside hull in south cave, (pics in gen discussion - mud on face) i think you sould be ok at dalby as ian has done it before the lift and tyres.. but if you want to try out your fronty before you pay for a day some were, put a post on here and i will try to meet you there on weekend... poss going on sat or sun this weekend........
adiy
Ok i checked out mud on your face and i am well up for some of that, unfortunately i am working this weekend
So standard road tyres will cope there Fronties must be better than i thought. Mind if i PM you my number then you can let me know when you go next. BTW i have promised my 6yr old he can come when i go off road think Dalby forest may be more up his street than a quarry. Rex is bouncing outside with excitement, he's like a dog with 2 d..... To answer your question is a fronty a soft roader I draw your attention the the off road video section. Check out my vids of the Aston cantlow meet and you will see frontys there doing everything the land rovers et. al. were doing. Mine was the red est with the fog logo'ed wheel cover and was on road tyres and completely standard. I have no prior knowledge of the site you mentioned but the fronty wont dissapoint you I am sure, Just remember if you don't get stuck you aint trying hard enough
Daz you had the whole family in the car too so it was down on ground clearance so all things considered your old car did great

Ok i am in, cool vids shame the first two were one fronty dying and the other being towed, then all went well. Got me worried for a second.
So all i need now is some bottle and a day where SWMBO will let me out Nick 1995, (N) SWB 20i Sport S (Named Rex)
Frontera a "soft roader" = NO
Whilst normally, the Frontera is a 2WD vehicle, in 4H or 4L, it is in difflock mode (that is the same as a Landrover with all the levers twiddled) The Frontera even has a low box. So No, the Frontera is not a "soft roader". Lawrence
I knew that, but needed it confirmed, need to give my mate a slap in his Terrano
Rekons his was all 4x4 , mine was not. Guess he was envious cos mine cost £1250 and his was £19,000 or there abouts. Nick 1995, (N) SWB 20i Sport S (Named Rex)
In 1995 mine cost £21000 I got it for £1400

a lot of people think the frontys are a bit of a joke and not capable but anyone thats seen them off road properly will tell you they are more fun and a lot better than a lot of so called "real" 4x4s
