I've never met you but already I like you... Patience is a Virtue engineered by a Frontera...
if the first fronty was a red SWB then im a little embarrassed that was at the end of the day and im not a forgiving driver so my swb performed lovley that weekend and has out done my expectations by 200% Luke 2L SWB 2" lift 31/10.5/15 MT's 12000lbs Winch
hi Luke,
Even though yours broke at least it shows that it was easy to fix, and yours went everywhere. Your experiance of the day as much as anyone elses shows just how rugged a car the fronty is. As for the mate with a terrano...AKA ford Maverick, I am sure this car has no low box and when one of the motoring tv programs tried to recreate the tv advert of the time, (Terrano Climbing a big bank of sand) The car failed dismally, So which is the real off roader now
Re: First off road experience
My first venture off road was at Langdale quest with the wife riding shotgun, I did the Jungle Trek, and really enjoyed it, advice is on hand when you get to the more challenging bits, and when you get to the climbs/ descents if you are not too sure of going it alone, people will come and watch and guide you. My fronty was completely standard trim, goodyear wrangler road tyres and no lift. Did catch tow bar electrics socket in a couple of places, but overall you should be ok. ( I think ive gone through 3 or 4 of those sockets since even with a lift kit fitted) Ian

Thanks for that, i was thinking of doing the jungle trek with my kids.
Yer that tow bar makes the departure angle really pants. I am going to relocate the electrics and remove the towbar so i can off and on as i need Kids cant wait , me too Nick 1995, (N) SWB 20i Sport S (Named Rex)
dont know if youve seen the thread, but there might be something organized near kirton lindsay, or somewhere round that area i think, it might be a good place for you to try. plenty of people to recover you if you get stuck. Or like My Mate Adrian posted, if you fancy it, come across one weekend and join us in the quarry near us. It wont cost anything + you can go anywhere you want, and do what you want.
Check my links out elsewhere on the site. will have a look later when i get back from work, and pm you all the links. Think i got video from Langdale somewhere. Ian
