punch hunthave been asked by a fellow member (mega-fronty ) if anyone would be interested in doing a punch hunt event in broseley, telford on the 23rd may
it will be with "shropshire-suzuki" and is a proper insured site as i have done a few events there. si also told me there may be prizes for who gets the most punches. its usually a very good day for such alittle site, lots of places to try ur winch or recovery skills. or if you just want to play, then theres a alot of mud.
Re: punch hunt
Fuddled from France here. What's a Punch Hunt? If you need something done quickly just ask a busy woman then get the f"k out of her way.
Re: punch huntHi Petr in France,it is like a trial event mate,at the start you get a numbered card which is tied to your car,you then drive around looking for the punches (which are tied to tree, fence post, etc) to mark the cards, the positions of the punches are recorded the greater the degree of difficulty to the greater the points recieved, the twist in the tail is getting the car close enough to the punch It may also be against the clock
Re: punch huntIf someone wishes to be my winch buddy and go half entry, I could be tempted to have a go.
Is there a newbie class ? Do vehicle drivers need an MSA license Lawrence
Re: punch huntno mate, its just abit of fun really, but like i say the site pretty interesting. think si trying to get afood van aswell. price is £18 per vehicle. . i'll be doing it anyway

Re: punch huntPunch hunts are good fun...was thinking of doing one at the weekenders in the woods...
We used to do em ages back, might have a pickie somewhere of my daihatsu "on the punch"....sadly on its side...got it though!!! and I was the only one (....stupid enough!! ) Is a good crack though guys...dont know how they do it, but we used to attach the card to a piece of string 1metreish long that was attached to the interior mirror...the idea being you had to get the door close to the punch and could reach it from in the car....the one were i laid it on its side I got by removing the sunroof and getting it that way...some said cheating...I said ingenious If its against the clock, then winching sometimes takes too long....."landing" near the punch is a better tactic Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!

Re: punch huntLike Orienteering but in a 4x4 crossed with a car treasure hunt and trials riding. Dammmnit I am so over qualified for it and so far away.
I'll have to start my own. Could do a Scottish hard man version ...........drive up, get punched in face, most bruises wins. No problem finding marshalls. If you need something done quickly just ask a busy woman then get the f"k out of her way.
Re: punch hunt Yep that pretty much covers it Pete
Re: punch huntThen there's the french version.
Drive up reach out and grab the glass of Punch ( They insist that they invented the drink.) and, if you make it to the finish you have won a new liver. If you need something done quickly just ask a busy woman then get the f"k out of her way.
Re: punch hunt
Surely the french version would involve driving a 2cv nearly up to the punch made of onion, to stamp your lump of smelly soft cheese, but surrendering just before getting to the punch...and instead deciding to collaborate with the hill that made getting to the punch difficult and drinking lots of wine... the scouse version would involve getting p1ssed, then getting up, hot wiring a 4x4, swinging by the hairdressers to get the perm sorted, signing on, then battle to get to the punch only to find someone had nicked it, so then spending the rest of the day feeding the punch card into as many cash point machines as possible with random pin numbers....and then have a fight with anyone...
