Well, just got back after another good day out with FOG. Nice to meet up with Sir Doris again and also put some faces to usernames! :D

After a gentle start on a lane near Corwen, we headed up to the Carwash, which was fairly low today and so a good introduction to fording for those who hadn't done it before. From here we headed up to the wayfarer, where we had a small mishap. meeting a navara pick up thingy coming up who begrudgingly reversed so far, before giving up, we pulled over, only to discover the grass wasn't that firm.. Fuddy tried pulling me backwards before huggy (cheers mate!) gave me a tug forwards to get me back on terrafirma  We then found Fuddy was also stuck on said bank and so the tow strap and shackles came out again   . The Navara didn't even stop to say thanks, he just carried on, I like to think he got stuck elewhere that day

After all the exitement we stopped off at LDC for a bite to eat and meet up with Phils group. We then headed down to tregeiriog to do another couple of lanes, it was here where we met up with a group of landys struggling to decide whether to turn left or right. We headed off over splashy lane where rich had a few moments but managed to regain traction and so we were off again, down to cefn gwyn and then back to LDC for a quick break. Suitably refreshed we headed back over the wayfarer, busy today, we pulled over for two groups of landys (in a safe place this time  ) and met a couple of new toyota pickups coming up. With all the activity we took the northen route down, back to cynwyd before recrossing the river alwen again. Then it was time for farewells, I hope you all had a good day. Big thanks again to Huggy for the tug free, and well done to Rich and his mate who had travelled all the way from Exeter for a days laning, thats a 10 hour round trip just to and from corwen!!
Someone mention laning? Just tell me when and where!

great day for me :) dunno if the missus will go again cos all the bouncing about has made her suffer a bit,but i will defo be going again,me truck managed it all with no damage, all i can find so far is a slightly bent towbar electrics bracket so no big deal,on the way home the truck was running very hot and oil presure was very low,had a good idea it was nothing more than mud blocking the rad and oil cooler, gave them a good hosing down once i got home and left half of wales on my driveway lol,not took her for a spin yet but i think she will be ok now,big thanks to furio and the rest of you guys for a great day, looking forward to next time :)

Fantastic day. Big thanks to Phil and Andy (who is currently off playing musical trucks, dropping the green thing off at it's new home and collecting a big red thing to replace it). Nice to meet my nearest fellow FOGer too (RickyTK).

My truck has well and truly been christened but it was just getting dark as I got home so I'll take a pic tomorrow while I wait for the office to find something for me to fix.

many many thanks to everyone who organised this for us "again", and also to the leaders and gate openers and closers to both groups, never seen so many damned gates in
my life i'm sure..

was great to put more names to faces and once again everyone was light hearted and the banter was great, even tho i'm sure andy tries to reach record lows ;-)

the truck behaved without any problems although when i got home i found a "fan belt" type item attached to the underside of my fronty??? i'm just hoping i picked it up
somewhere on the trails and that it hasn't come off mine???? will check tomorrow after i start to try and clean it, but my god it looks good full of 5hite :-)

i'm proud to be associated with you guys and really like the way we can hold our heads up high doing what we like to do and doing it properly and sensibly ( not 14 oval badges in one group???????? )

here's my pics, not that many, but hope you get the idea, also, not got many of the other group for obvious reasons but i apologise for this..

not long got in, first AA man got there and told me i need a flat bed to get me home, cool, second AA man, got me as far as the macy-D,s on the A50 and ran out of hours, the third AA man got me to sandbach services, before he ran out of hours, the 4th man was a Mansfield flat bed, he got me home,,

any way. had a bloody good day, some people told not to drive through water that fast, as it will damage the lane as well as the truck (simo and his eml light,) but you know he could not resist it, video will be getting edited tomorrow, thanks to all for coming far and wide, its people like you that make FOG what it is, well done all, (saying nothing about people getting STUCK on the wayfarer,).

well checked the truck over this morning and its bad news, every fin on the fan has gone and there is major dents in the radiator :( although i cant see any leaks in the radiator, whats left of the fan turns but feels stiff to me,dunno if it should spin easy or not,i would of thought you could spin it by hand so the fan should of stopped turning when i hit the water but dunno, will any frontera fan fit the 2.5 tds engine? if not i will have a problem finding one, never found a 2.5 in the scrap yard yet :(

Thats bad news Huggy :( All I can suggest is the bay of E or try posting in the parts wanted page. How does the truck run apart from this? Still overheating now you have washed out the rad? Could you get a fan off another fronty say 2.0 /2.2 and fit that wired up to either your thermostatic switch or a manual switch on the dash? Hope you get it sorted soon mate, try Northwich metals for parts, usually has a few frontys in, as to whether 2.5 or not in stock depends on lady luck.
Someone mention laning? Just tell me when and where!

Has the rad been pushed back as you hit standing water? Happened to mine, need to make sure the rad is well restrained when you sort the fan out. Its worth taking the old one around a scrappy and look for any fan with same hole centers and fins in the right direction. I used a Paj one with an adapter I made up.
