Hi dude

Going on a recce this weekend to look at some green lanes on the cotswolds that a green-laning biker mate of mine told me about.

Is there any TRO/UCRs Local to Solihull (Excluding Temple Balsall to Barston as you'd rip the underneath of a Fronty to bits on that one)?

Hmm, I think your terminology might be slghtly off here:
TRO : Traffic Regulation Order (road has been closed, temporarily or otherwise)
UCR : Unclassified Country Road
What I think you mean is:
BOAT : Byeway Open to All Traffic, and
ORPA : Other Route with Public Access
Having just had a quick look on the OS map, there is'nt much in the Solihull area, except maybe at Rowington and Bushwood Grange, but as they appear on the map as dual status (ORPA/Path), you'd better check with the local rights of way officer, as post NERCA, all dual status routed have been downgraded to the lesser right.

Hmm then why is there a UCR you can take a high-clearence 4x4 up by the Temle Balsall Ford?
OK, me screwed up on TROs! lol
I seriously need to do some GreenLaneing!
even if it's just to get the terminology right! lol

A UCR is just what is says, an Unclassified Country Road, often appearing on OS 1:50k maps as a "white" with either solid or dashed sides. An UCR is a road, surfaced and maintained by the council (normally).
I think what you are looking for "green lanes", ie, lanes that have not been tarmaced (sealed), that offer a little bit more of a challenge than just another bit of tarmac.
But remember that if the "green lane" is a challenge, then it should not probably be driven as we have a responcibility to respect the countryside and not damage it further by wheelspinnig or even driving off track to find an easier route round an obstacle.
I'm a little busy until the end of June (as Chief Marshal for the 3 day Rally of the Midlands), but after that I'm sure to want to go laning again.

well, I may only be 29 but I'm not a road-ripping,wheelspinning 4x4 yob!
I have the greatest respect for our countryside as I was bought up in London and sometimes staying in Kent!
I'll still be here End of June so count me in!
