Did go out for a few hours up there end of Feb and revisited some of my old routes round Buxton. Could do with having a look round Matlock / Ashbourne for the second day but don't like driving new lanes solo really, but will see if Trailwise can lend some info.
Someone mention laning? Just tell me when and where!

Any lanes in the peaks are bound to be good lanes! It's a similar shape to the route I did but mine had a few around matlock area as well. But I'd say nearly 90 miles is enough for a days laning lol

Nice find that. I have a route that starts just north of Wincle and also heads up to Castleton, in fact you could head across almost to Sheffield.

Sorry I've been lurking in the sidelines all this time but now I'm here . Me and rob have worked out 2 routes , an easier one for Saturday allowing a later but not late start and a more technical one for Sunday which will mean an early start as it goes further afield , taking in Stanage Edge (YouTube it for a taster).
We'll try to run 2 staggered groups allowing us all to meet for lunch. Day 2 lunch is at a picnic site so pack your butties (there is a pub just up the road for Andy lol).
Without sounding bolshy I want to make one stipulation. AT tyres at a minimum please or I cannot take you. We've had issues in the past of people on road tyres causing the group to be stuck on the 1st lane for 2 hours. Anyone who only has road tyres please just ask for a ride along with someone.

Unsure whether Stanage is open as it was going under the knife to make it a flat (though inclined) road.

As long as Hollinsclough is not on your list that's fine, Andy is the only one with a tank guard to make it

Could myself and the misses politely ask for a few well placed photo opportunity stops on both days? I'm not talking setting up the tripod and flash guns kinda stops, just 5 or 10 mins to take in the surrounding kinda stops every so often? Also we're bringing a gas stove so if people want to bring bacon and rolls with them we don't mind doing the cooking if we find a nice spot to stop for a snack (thinking late breakfast kinda thing before we stop for a 'proper' lunch?) no point going all that way if we're not guna stop to have a look :P

As per Robfrogs post, it is now tro'd along with roych clough, chapel gate and tenterhill. Monsal head is also under review but still driveable as far as I know at the moment.

I'll have another look at the routes and discuss with rob . We will need another leader with either viewranger or great map reading skills and a navigator

Yeah can lead a group, I have a route in mind for the first day heading from Macclesfield to castleton and beyond if time allows. On the Sunday I was going to head across to Bakewell and down to Matlock. I've checked these out via trailwise andall ok. But I'm easy either way. If you have a route forward me the grid refs with any lunch stops etc. All I ask is that someone can volunteer to do the gates in my group so I can concentrate on my maps lol!
