I did have a very good long route but no idea if I still have it as its on memory maps. Also it's old so some of the lanes might have closed as I think alot of the lanes in the peaks have been closed

Just to make it clear we are looking at laning on both the saturday and sunday, it's not not very often we venture this way so I want to make the best of it. Saturday night has traditionally become drinks night as there isn't normally any driving to be done on the sunday. However if you wish to lane on the sunday it's up to you to monitor your intake accordingly anyone believed to be under the influence on sunday won't be allowed laning viewforum.php?f=126

I won't be drinking like I did for the past two annuals. Because I want to be able to lane on Saturday & Sunday. We can always sort out a weekend drinking at a later date.

It is well worth checking for the lane status. With the bad weather recently and some idiots being .. errm .. idiots a lot of lanes have had restrictions put on them. Hoping to get to a GLASS meeting or two to get a better idea, However my local group covers Cumbria.

I've done quite a few lanes in the peaks, the only lane that I'd stay clear of, unless you are well lifted and running 33's is the one that runs down into the top of Hollinsclough, or put another way it's the right hand fork as you look at it on the map. The left fork is OK to run either way but not the right fork, believe me you won't get up it with out a winch and ground anchor and coming down you run a big risk of ripping the arse out of you truck on the series of 2 foot steps that are close to the bottom of the fork.
I manage to rip a valve out of the NSR tyre on the rocks coming down the steps and dragged the fuel tank over the lip of each step. for those that don't know my truck it's a A series swb 2.8 with 2 in suspension lift, 2 inch body lift and 285/75/16 (33inch) tyres.
I've said my piece, you please your self.
Regards
Stuart

Yeah, not my idea of a laning tbh, heard some reports of vehicle damage and idiots going up there at night, winching at 3am . The feedback on trailwise has said as much too, with hostile locals to boot (no surprise).

I would have a look but at the moment I don't have a truck at all that is any where near roadworthy or in one piece.
Need to resolve that first or I ain't coming.

Stretch, what happened to the list of grid refs I pm'd you? They just need transposing onto memory map if you have it, I don't use memory map so can't send you the overlays. Some of the lanes were included in the TOR route, which I have a paper copy of, I can scan it if anyone wants one. I have offered to lead a group, if necessary, but we will need another leader or two I would imagine to keep group numbers down. Whoever else who wants to lead a group can contact me for info if they wish. It is a sensitive area and is likely to be busy with other users at this time of year. Sadly most of the challenging lanes now have restrictions on them too.
Someone mention laning? Just tell me when and where!
