Hi Laners

Lanes sorted;

Saturday is the longer run (at present), it's a half hour drive to the start (say's google) in Hallerton then a 40 odd mile drive back along the lanes, then a 5 min drive back to the site. Reckon this will take somewhere between four and half and five hours plus brew stops.

Sunday we got the options of a short course close by (Northamptonshire Lanes don't open until !st May) that will start and finish just south of the A14 and take two maybe two and a half hours, or we can split this (do half) then drive south of Northampton and do the lanes around the Santa Pod area then pick up the other half of the short couse on the way back, that'll be about six or seven hours.

Currently we go 2 leaders (me and my wing man, Rob) both with MM. Need leaders for the for the other 3 of the 5 groups preferably with MM or the ability to mark up the maps on some other electronic gismo. Sorry I haven't got paper copies. If you want to be a leader make yourself known to me Friday evening, we'll sort out who's doing what then. You can't fail to recognise me, short, fat, old-er than most; grey hair and beard; walks with a lisp; talks with a limp, Oh and there'll be a Green Oval parked along side my Fronty, belongs to Rob (lanes leader for the weekend) but don't hold it against him as he's argued the fronty cause on more than one occassion.

See you's all Friday

Regards

Stuart

I'm happy to lead a group.
Will need MM format route file in gpx format for my device (or being the routes on a memory stick and I can convert).
Better still, you can email them to me to convert beforehand. Use the email link at the bottom of my profile next to the PM button :wink:

Re: 2011 Annual Meet Laning

Hi

Reference laning start times, looking at the listing theres 25 to 30 peeps wanting laning, according to club rules that'll be 5 or 6 groups (currently have 5 leaders volunteered so might have to have 6 in a group instead of 5). Saturday's lanes are circa a 5 hour trip so we don't want to be to late away in the morning, I would suggest the first group needs to be away no later than 10.30 so that the other groups , leaving at interval times, get back at a reasonable time. I suppose we could run the lanes with groups travelling clockwise and anti clockwise. Passing might be interesting if not an issue.

Sunday we can leave later as the planned lanes are shorter and closer to the site.

Regards

Stuart

Also, just a little disclaimer. Group leaders take no responsibility for the actions of other. IE you go at your own risk :D

On another note, has any1 done all 3 of these routes? I ask because on the "South Liecester" route, the routes arnt marked out as byways on my map. Or am I just being over paranoid? On my map they are marked with a dashed black line and red blobs, dont know what that is, but I know its not a byway because they are red, or green crosses
