Convoy from the South Coast.

Time's moving on fast towards the meet now, and I thought a bit of planning may be in order for those coming from the South Central sort of way.
I'll be starting off from Southampton, and it'd be cool to have a bit of a convoy going on, either by way of the A34 / A43 route past Oxford & Silverstone, or M3 / M25 / M1, which means we might be able to link up with the guys from Kent / Essex way, if they're going round the M25 / M1 route.

Any thoughts, or people up for it?? We can work on times & assembly points a little later,

Where and when are you planning to meet?

Well, how's this for a plan lads...??
Obviously I'm starting from Southampton, either J7 or J5 of the M27 depending on how I choose to join the motorway, then north up the M3 to collect the Hound Dog clan from Yateley area, up on to the M25, clockwise round to J21 for the M1, then north up the M1 past Catthorpe to come off at J20 for Lutterworth & Market Harborough.
Not going to be a huge convoy from the South I know, but going the M1 means that Stretch can join us there along with anyone else who might want to join us up the M1 (Newport Pagnell, Rothersthorpe, etc) and if the SE lot go that way we might manage them, too
Westo, you'd be more than welcome to come along to my place first if you want a cuppa & bacon buttie before we set out, or perhaps meet at Winchester, or Farnborough? PM me if you want and we can have a chat.

Anyhow, timing wise, I was thinking of aiming for around 2pm at Avalanche, so kicking out from mine at around 10am, up to Hound Dog's area for 11, then Toddington MSA for about 12:30, and on from there. Thinking about an hour for each of the three legs, with half hour at a stop for stretching legs, allowing for traffic, etc.
Thoughts please??

Rospicer; As far as I'm aware the SE convoy is still planning on taking the M11/A14 route once departing from the M25, although if it changes we'll see, hehe.. Whereabouts in Surrey are you, anyhow??

Hmmm, so Staines junction might be a possibility for joining the convoy then??
Shame the M25 has no services on the Western side, there's a new one being built round by the A3 and there's a new one at Beaconsfield now, but could do with one around Rickmansworth area too, methinks.

Rospicer, how's about this for an idea if you want to hook up before Toddington...
If you're coming from Walton, what about a quick rendezvous at Colnbrook, J14 of the M25? IIRC there is a Travelodge pretty much on the junction roundabout and it's not a diversion off route so my timings should still stand.
You could PM your phone number perhaps and I'll let you know when myself, Phil & Mike are leaving the Yateley area??
