events at the meet

Can we not have a "Time Trial" please.

1. It encourages people to drive fast and potentially damage their vehicles.
2. You might need all sorts of paperwork to run a speed event.
3. In the strictest sense of a "speed" event, drivers would be required to wear approved helmets and hold some form of MSA issued competiton licence. Vehicles would require roll cages and other safety equipment.

Right, I've got that off my chest (I feel better now)

How about one of the following:
Trial (drive slowly and carefully through the canes)
Treasure hunt
Punch hunt

Just for Hipo, who was brave enough to ask....................Punch Hunt, the organiser/s hang "punches" on various fixtures around the off road site in hidden and or difficult places to get to with your vehicle. The participant and their vehicle plus co-driver have a "punch card" attached to the near side of their vehicle on a short leash. The game begins, you the participant negociates the off road site in search of said punches, when you find one you get your car close enough to it to enable you to punch your card with said puch without removing it from your car, one found and puched, go look for another.

The puches usually look like large plastic clothes pegs and inside the jaws you will find sharp pins arranged in a pattern / letter/ number. Each punch is different and matches the same symbol on the punch card, be sure to match the punch to the correct symbol on your card when punching.

Hope this helps

Regards

Stuart :)

You dont have to do a time trial as a speed competition, you can run it as you would run a road event and set an average time based on say 5mph (for example) around the whole course and then see who gets closest, to fast is just as bad as to slow.
Its the wifes until it breaks down.
