Anybody know if there are apps available to run Memory Map on a iPad mini?
If 'yes' would the PC maps that are currently on the laptop have to be copied off and translated to a format that the Apple iPad would be able to read?

Re: Running Memory Map on iPad miniMemoryMap have their own iOS apps in the iTunes store already Pete.
There's a free version, and one you have to pay for. The paid version allows you to import the .qct map files onto your device using iTunes if you don't want to buy the mobile specific ones. I think the same goes for Android devices through the Google Play store too. Jim...

Re: Running Memory Map on iPad miniCheers Jim - a job for Chloe I think (my 12 year old grand-daughter) who gets to grips with these IT things better than me.
My thinking is will the 7" iPad do the same job as the laptop for tracking and plotting lanes for future use. As long as the iPad mini can be viewed OK, it will take up a lot less dashboard space.
Re: Running Memory Map on iPad miniThat's probably not a bad plan if you've got thr iPad already.
I'm not sure what the costs are though for the app, but you have a 12 year old for that hehe. As an alternative though, Robfog uses a small netbook and simply runs the PC software on that; if the iTunes route is going to be expensive or you don't want to risk an iPad in a 4x4, a 2nd hand Aspire One could be bought cheaply off eBay and used?? Jim...

Oh, and available for about £100 on eBay these days, with a windows XP install. Jim...

Only problem is keeping Chloe's mits off it. My thoughts have been as topic and additionally, perhaps can they be utilised to act as a sat nav as well. Thanks for the link Ste Rob, if we have to buy the maps, don't mind doing a deal with you and share the costs. Looking at the link Ste put up I was reading something about 5 licences. If the numbers could be accumulated and if 5 peeps could legally load the maps the costs wouldn't be to prohibitive. http://shop.memory-map.co.uk/acatalog/Upgrades.html
