Internet providerLooking at changing provider going from plusnet to bt. My question is how will it affect me loging on to these sites as they'll have my plusnet email or do I keep my plusnet email addy
It might be slow but i can go anywhere!
Re: Internet providerIf you log in to a site using your email address, you will still be able to log into that site. You just won't receive and emails from them as it's just a user name (like you use John Boy) to log in here.
Some providers allow you to keep your email address, but they normally make a monthly charge for the privilege. Best bet is to find a free supplier like hotmail, but these often have no spam blockers and are bombarded daily with junk. My hotmail account gets on average 20+ junk emails a day, while my BT address only gets around 1 per month, normally telling me a USPS or Fedex parcel couldn't be delivered . My gmail account (so far) has never received any spam/junk Traffic lights in London are just rough guidelines
Re: Internet providerYou'll get a new email from BT when you switch. Although iirc Plusnet is a BT business so you might be able to keep it.
As Badboy says, if you use your plusnet email address to login that won't stop you logging in , just that you won't receive communication from the site. Anywhere that uses a username, like FOG, you'll be able to login as normal and simply update the email address on the account. Google's gmail is a good choice of free email, I have one and it's good to have an email address that isn't tied to your ISP. Jim...
