Is this camera any good?Hi all,
I am looking at getting this camera and was wandering if any of you camera nuts could translate all the camera speak to normal english (or just let me know if its any good ) http://www.europe-nikon.com/en_GB/produ ... olpix-p510 Thanks If it ain't broke, fix it before it does!! You know it will!!
Re: Is this camera any good?Cracking little cameras, I have one of the fist Coolpix they made and it has taken some near professional pics. Easy to use,you can't go wrong.
Re: Is this camera any good?Dont know, i know flick all about cameras
IF ITS NOT BROKE, YOUR NOT TRYING HARD ENOUGH!!
STRATA 2012- WE CAME, WE SAW, WE KICKED ITS ASS! (even if it got wrinkled in the bombhole!) BAR STED LANE 2012- BEEN THERE DONE THAT! NEXT....
Re: Is this camera any good?looks pretty good for a bridge camera , Your best to look at actual reviews of it though then ask us to translate . looks like its loaded with a lot of good stuff but no idea having that zoom range will affect the quality of photo, if you had that zoom on a dslr camera you wouldnt expect the same quality that you would get with a lens with a smaller zoom range. ( unless you were paying thousands for the lens of cause)

Re: Is this camera any good?HI,
i have looked at the reviews and to be fair most of them say 4 or 5 *. i dont know what the difference is between a bridge camera or a dslr camera i just saw it and thought it looks good im gonna go to pcworld tomorrow and look at one, probably wont buy it from there but i can at least see what its like. thanks If it ain't broke, fix it before it does!! You know it will!!
Re: Is this camera any good?I'm not clued up on Nikon cameras, but:
Some reviews here: http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-COOLPIX-Dig ... Descending And, "Bridge" cameras - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridge_camera I had a bridge camera for a three years and very good it was too (Fuji S9600). Eventually I wanted a little more control so bought a DSLR. That particular camera has some nice features and some others that don't really interest me. If you're moving up from a compact (or even a phone) it should do you ok for a couple of years. Go to PC World and handle the camera, get a feel for it. Then, go to Jessops and talk to them about it (they specialise in cameras and will be much more clued up and be able to answer your questions in laymans terms). I hope that helps a little. Lawrence
Re: Is this camera any good?Just to update you all, bought one yesterday and my god it's fantastic!!!

Re: Is this camera any good?I think i did, I paid £350 for the camera (price tagged at £300), a £50 memory card, a £50 bag/case, a £25 spare battery and a tripod but i didnt see the price tag for it.
What would you like a pic of? If it ain't broke, fix it before it does!! You know it will!!
Re: Is this camera any good?Anything that shows the quality of the pictures you take with it

Re: Is this camera any good?Got offered a Canon EOS d7 with a couple of lenses today for £500, looked like a nice camera for the money, apparently is worth over a grand plus the lenses, but the fellas car has just died and he needs a 2.8 lump for it...can feel a swap coming on possibly if these are any good.

Re: Is this camera any good?Cool...
its got a normal looking kinda 45mm lense but apparantly does more than that and zooms as well and a grey coloured telephoto that he does his tweety stuff with..that grey lense was quite a biggy, not like the old mirror lenses but a about 1 and half times the size of an 80-200 pk fitment that I had on my old pentax. looked expensive I have to say...
