Re: tap rubiconIt sounds like you have ad-ware on your pc, this site does not have any adverts so its not from FOG.
Try clearing cookies and maybe run Ad-aware http://www.lavasoft.com/ and Malware bytes http://www.malwarebytes.org/ free versions to give the pc a once over Ste

Re: tap rubiconDrift, not quite buddy...
Jonny, something like this?? How long has it been going on for?? As far as I can make out, it's an advertising thing as rubiconproject.com is a genuine ad agency type setup that various websites use. FOG has no adverts, but I would guess that another site you frequent uses them to serve adverts, and something's gone wrong somewhere. I don't think it's anything nasty, just annoying until it gets sorted. I'd normally recommend installing AdBlock as a matter of course for web use, but you could just tell your browser to block that domain. I f you're running Internet Explorer though, you should be able to click on "tools" in the menu bar, then Internet Options, and then the Content tab on the box that shows up, and there's a content advisor which you can turn on and enter addresses of websites you want to block. Re: tap rubiconI just read this, moved onto the next topic, & funny ol thing.... Avg pops up saying AVG has protected you from several threats recently. I viewed the stats
suspicious processes monitored in the last month 503 total threats protected against 297053 file based threats blocked 15 not bad for a free antivirus, been using it for years. without issue. i always delete all history once if not twice a week, incl all cookies, passwords etc.
Re: tap rubiconhi guys its exactly the bar that wilberforce has shown. im running avg internet protection, but pc was running really slow (ok its on vista op system) but slower thgan usual so i went on to microsoft site and downloaded and run a malware check , it showed and fixed 13 threats that AVG didnt pick up. PC is running a bit better now but im getting this bloody flashing strip ps anybody any views on avg antivirus iv read mixed reviews regarding how good it is
Re: tap rubiconAVG is something I've used and found pretty good over the years, and not too heavy on resources.
I will always recommend using multiple programs for dealing with viruses and malware simply because, as you've noticed, some programs miss things that another will find. Windows Defender (which I assume is what you downloaded from MS) is actually pretty good at what it does, and it's free. Same with AVG so between the two you ought to be fine. You could try the programs Ste mentions as well if you like. As for the flashing bar, as I've said, I don't believe it's harmful so either live with it until it's fixed, or follow the instructions I gave for blocking things like that. You could also try clearing your cache/temporary files (again from the Internet options menu) then close IE and restart it in case the problem's been sorted but your PC still has old data floating about. Re: tap rubiconWell, I was assuming the OP was running IE..
Anyhow, it's not a plugin mate, it's a file that the site's (we don't know who's yet) advertising software wants to do something with. Jim...
