Memory Map for Android - Beta version FOC

Memory Map for Android - Beta version FOC

Postby stevd on Mon Dec 19, 2011 6:20 pm

Hi all,

I came across this the other day and thought it maybe of use for some of you, its a free beta version of the new memory map for android. I have just loaded it on my Galaxy s2 and it seems to work great. Lets you load and create overlays.

Its a zip file so you just have to unzip on your home computer, copy the .apk file over to your phones storage and then run the file from your phones file managing software. Any maps you have, just copy them over to the specified folder, and bobs your uncle...it works.

I dont know if it will be free when they release it so it maybe worth getting the beta version of it. I remember on my old iPhone it was an expensive app for the full version.

Cheers
S

Hmmmmmmmmmmm
Looks good, but you need to buy the correct versions of the maps. The standard PC maps do not work which may cause some (most) users a problem if you acquired your maps via unofficial sources
Un-installed.
I'll stick with[linkurl=https://market.android.com/details?id=com.meixi&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5tZWl4aSJd] MM Tracker[/linkurl] off android market as that runs .qct maps which most people have copies of.

If your using MM tracker, not Memory map app as this thread is for try having a read[linkurl=http://sites.google.com/site/mmtrackerinfo/home] here[/linkurl]. If that don't help give me a call and I can talk you through it.

Correct

The official Memory Map application will only read the newer digitally signed maps however for a 1 off fee of £20- it can be unlocked to use what Memory Map refer to as legacy maps, same applies to the iPhone version

No tested myself, have been lurking on the MM forums and a few peeps had posted they couldn't read older maps and the MM support guy mentioned the £20- fee to unlock for older non DRM maps

Using MMTracker at the mo, no problems apart from it doesn't seem to play with rxf files from Wayfinder and some of my routes I had converted to GPX format failed to work but still early doors
