malwarebytes free offer

malwarebytes free offer

Postby meooo on Sun Jun 05, 2011 8:10 pm

Well, I did the standard update on malwarebytes yesterday, and they have a free 14 day trial of the bought version...so being pretty tight I accepted it on my laptop and the pc. What a mistake that was.
This morning laptop would start up but not run any programmes or shut down...had to remove the battery....thought it was a conflict with AVG....until I found the pc was the same (no AVG) Laptop is on windows7, pc on vista. I managed to un-install malwarebytes from both and harmony is restored, so re-downloaded it to pc, but rejected the trial offer and even thats ok now. So be warned, dont accept free trials :(

Zone Alarm = £30 per year and Tune up Utilities is about the same per year.
If you have both of them you can relax. ( Once you have got the little B!!!!!ds to behave!)

But seriously folks... for £60 per year and a little bit of tearing hair and banging head on keyboard, during setup, I've had no probs for several years.
All three Computers locked and secure.
So far.
If you need something done quickly just ask a busy woman then get the f"k out of her way.

I use malewarebytes my self and find it an excellent piece of kit. There is a fake version going round and it sounds like that is what you have downloaded. Malwarebytes don't pop up with updates

Norton Internet Security (3 PC Version)... 29.99 for a year. Simples, used it for years and never had any problems.
This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been

Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered ;) )

Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... 'O-no' the truck.

If you visit their website, they are proudly announcing "Free 14 day trial offer for all users".... it came in with thier normal everyday update. When you go and make a clean (new) download it comes with the trial offer too, if you dont accept it there's no problem.

The free trial is what i use, its an excellent piece of kit for scanning with and used inconjuction with others like superantispyware, ccleaner etc will remove just about anything.

As a live scanner/protector then no as it dont auto update, norton/kaspersky etc are for that.
