Ok mate.
Assuming no one comes up with a better offer
I can supply a free one depending on the following: It will have Windows XP It will be suitable for web browsing/email and office - heavy app's like PSP or video editing won't be easy You would have to wait for me lash summat up You would have to supply mouse/keyboard/monitor

Is it always from 'cold' that it whites out ? Is the monitor left on standby when the PC is switched off ?

Hello Mate most proberly the ribbon from the screen to the main board i recommend having a look and replacing it and also have a aerosol can to clear the dust away cuz that can cause heat and static which in time can damage the device more than it sounds ike it is,
Do no use lynx or oust a lol u can purcase the cans from pcworld
hope this helps
If life hands you a lemon,,,,, Quickly grab it and throw it at someone!!
