Does it do the same when your sober ? Also is this from the keypad mouse, if so have you tried a usb mouse to se if you get the same results

Go to:
Start Settings Control Panel System Hardware Device Manager Mice and Other Pointing Devices (this may vary depending on configuration)
Now, Your mouse or touchpad should have an entry here (Synaptics Touchpad for example).
Double click the entry for your mouse and see if there is a 'polling interval' or similar checkbox. For the life of me I cant remember the exact title but it can cause mouse jumping, particularly on laptop touchpads. If you post back with findings Il tell you if the problem lies there or elsewhere.
By the way, does it happen f an external mouse is plugged in?

Had a similar prob with a laptop. after trying drivers and all sorts googled it and found out the touchpad needed cleaning!!

Those touch pads need to be treated like a clitoris, with a very gentle touch. On the plus side they are easier to find than the other type.
