AVG

Postby Roo on Tue Nov 16, 2010 4:48 pm

Hi
I am trying to download AVG (free one) and it sends me to http://free.avg.com/gb-en/homepage then I click download then it takes me to this http://free.avg.com/gb-en/download-avg-anti-virus-free so I click this and it takes me to this http://free.avg.com/gb-en/download-avg-anti-virus-free :? :? Avg's name has gone :? and when I did download this it said that I had 700 errors, it could get rid of 100 but I would have to pay to remove the others??

So has anyone PLEASE got the link that will just take me to the AVG where I click and its downloaded and I can use it plz??
Many Thanks
Roo :D

The best security suite you can get is common sense. I never used to run Av's or FW's , just ran an online scan once a month

I used to use AVG....till my pc got attacked bug style by some virus thing and it didnt stop it...

Comet are doing Norton 360 for 3 pc's in your home for £30 I think for a year....sounds good to me!
Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!
click here for the SE Events Index/links Thread...see all the reviews and whats coming up soon!

Looks like I'm in trouble with the Mrs's again...
She asked me what I'd most like to do to her body...
Apparently "Identify it" is not the correct answer!

Roo, sorry I didn't read your original post properly.

Are you 1000% sure that it was AVG that told you that you had 700 errors and it could only fix 100 ? The reason I ask is that A:) As far as I am aware AVG doesn't operate on that basis, and B:) The error message you describe is very reminiscent of a rogue anti virus program that is doing the rounds at the moment.

Please confirm (don't assume) which program is telling you have all these errors etc

Huggy's instructions to get the system info are correct, however another way to get the same info is to Click Start , then Click Control Panel, then double click on the System icon.
