Chargeable USBs

Chargeable USBs

Postby FronteraGirl on Thu Oct 28, 2010 3:13 pm

My lappy has a chargeable USB port, I gather I have to enable this feature in the BIOS / setup / bootup stage thing or whatever its called, but do I need a special cable so I can connect phone to lappy, or just an ordinary USB?

Ta :P

Hi
Most phones these days come with the correct usb adapter lead along with phone software which is really only for uploading music or videos plus other stuff to your computer or phone...USB ports don't require anything done to them as they should already be enabled....If for some reason your USB ports are not working they could have been disabled at some point...You find this out by going into the DEVICE manger, If a port is disabled it will show a yellow Question mark against that disabled port...Just right click and enable that port...You should just insert the usb lead into both your phone and into the pc and hey presto watch it charge

If you already have the USB phone lead then just plug it into the port (usb) and your phone will show it as charging, Was you intending on using the pc to upload such things as music or visa versa??

My TomTom will charge from my lappy usb without changing any settings, I think USB2 does it automatically, but dont
quote me on that... :D
