Re: Is my graphics card dead?Ste, which bit was making the noises??
Cos looking at your pics, while the 3-pin plug looks decidedly suspect, the other end looks like a bog standard kettle lead plug. I acquired one of those miniature 3-pin plugs when I bought a USB doobrie for my old IDE hard drives, first thing I did was throw it, and got one of the 3 million kettle leads out of the box, used that just fine. If it was the brick itself, it could be a little more tricky, as that's not a particularly standard looking connector on the end. Maplin may be an option though,as they do assorted power supplies with interchangable tips, and aside from that, it's just a standard looking 240v to 12v transformer. Jim Jim...

Re: Is my graphics card dead?Hi there Ste. I just decided to come in late on this one as I know next to nowt about all this.
The little I do know includes Belarc everyone should have this as it lists everything in your 'puter on screen for you to see including motherboard models and licence numbers and whether Microsoft updates worked or need to be reloaded. Can be used offline if you are worried about all that. http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html I showed it to the guy that fixes mine and he uses it all the time now. Downloads it ( very quick) onto customer's computer and prints it and when he's finished fixing he uninstalls it. Hope this helps all of you, Pete. If you need something done quickly just ask a busy woman then get the f"k out of her way.
Re: Is my graphics card dead? The power adaptor will probably be as expensive as a replacement product.
Look at Maplins http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=222999 or PC World http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/cnm-hard- ... 8-pdt.html
